Not all kefir is the same

We live with rush and stress. Our kefir doesn't. It ferments naturally, for exactly the time it needs, until it is just right.

Our goal is simple: to help you feel lighter, more energetic and good in your own body. No additives, no preservatives, nothing artificial. Just whole milk, kefir grains, time and a pinch of love.

Your gut is your second brain

A happy gut means a happy body. One glass of kefir a day is our favourite way to feel young and full of energy.

A more diverse gut microbiota

Dozens of live strains. In a Stanford study, more fermented foods like kefir increased gut microbiota diversity in ten weeks.

Easier to digest than milk

Fermentation uses up much of the lactose, so many people who struggle with milk enjoy kefir.

Lighter, with less gas

In a clinical study, 54 to 71% less gas than milk for adults who digest lactose poorly.

Strong bones and muscles

Calcium for normal bones, and protein to help maintain muscle.

More energy, less tiredness

Vitamins B12 and B2 help reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Supports your defences

Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Custom jar ideas

Good questions. Honest answers.

My nutritionist recommended kefir. Is yours the right kind?

When nutritionists recommend kefir, they usually mean the traditional kind: plain, unsweetened and full of live cultures. That is exactly what we make, with whole milk and live grains and nothing else. If you follow a specific plan, show them our ingredient list. It is a short one.

Why is it more expensive than supermarket kefir?

Because it is not the same product. Factory kefir is made in huge batches with a few starter cultures and designed to sit on a shelf. Ours is made by hand every week with live grains and fresh whole milk, fermented slowly, with nothing added, and delivered fresh in reusable glass. Try one jar and let your gut decide.

Which jar should I choose?

It depends on how much you drink. With one glass a day (about 150 ml), the 314 ml jar lasts 2 days, the 580 ml jar about 4 days and the 1 L jar almost a week. New to kefir? Start with the 314 ml jar. Already a daily habit, or sharing at home? Go for the 1 L.

Where should I store my kefir?

In the fridge, at around 4 °C, with the lid closed. Keep it cold when you are not drinking it, including on the way home.

How long does it last?

Kefir keeps for about two weeks in the fridge, and it gets more sour over time. Check the date on your label.

When is the best time to drink it?

There is no strict rule, so choose what suits you. Many people enjoy a glass with or after breakfast, or in the evening. If kefir is new to you, start with half a glass a day and build up as your body gets used to it.

I am lactose intolerant. Can I drink it?

Many people with lactose intolerance tolerate kefir better than milk, since fermentation reduces lactose and the microbes help digest what is left. It is not lactose-free, though, so start with a small amount and see how you feel.

What about a milk allergy?

Kefir is made from cow’s milk, so it is not suitable if you have a milk protein allergy. This is different from lactose intolerance.

It has separated into liquid and thicker kefir. Is it off?

No, that’s normal. It is just whey separating from the curds. Give the jar a gentle shake or stir before drinking.

Why does it taste sour and a bit fizzy?

That is the live fermentation at work. A tangy taste and a light fizz are the signs of a kefir that is truly alive. It is exactly how it should taste.

How does the jar return scheme work?

Your first jar is included in the price. Rinse it when it’s empty and hand it back on your next delivery. We refill it and you only pay for the kefir.

Do you deliver?

Yes, across Malta. Send us your order and we’ll confirm delivery options and timing by return.
